Folk craftsperson Constantin Lungu

Craftsman Constantin Lungu, president of the Folk Craftsmen's Association of the Neamț Land, has his workshop in Humulești, near Târgu Neamț. Specialising in wood carving, he makes sticks, shepherd's crooks and cudgels, hatchets from elder and hazel wood, some inlaid, others plated with pewter, at the end of which are carved various male faces depicting shepherds watching over their flocks of sheep. Alongside these, in his workshop we discover beautiful dowry chests, skilfully plated in pewter foil, on which the traditional symbols, the sun and the cross, are inlaid.
